Radio Nova has joined forces with leading charity ISPCC and the Irish Mirror to launch ‘The Radio Nova’s Kits For Christmas campaign’. The station’s goal is to provide sports jerseys of all types to those less fortunate throughout Dublin city, county and commuter belt and help put a smile on young children’s faces this Christmas.
The Kits for Christmas campaign is the second seasonal campaign that Radio NOVA has embarked on; the station ran a Christmas Toy Appeal in 2012.
“Most of us have a stash of well-preserved sports jerseys in the house that will never be worn again. Rather than these shirts going to waste we can get them to those who would wear them with pride”, says Joan Lea, one of the station’s breakfast hosts. “Whether it’s one replica shirt or 11 shirts that your Sports Team doesn’t need any more – we can use them to put smiles on faces!”
The station is interacting with parents, teachers and schools to collect all types of sports jerseys, which will then be delivered to the ISPCC.
To take part, all listeners have to do is simply drop a new or second hand jersey off at Radio Nova, freepost to the ISPCC Headquarters at 29 Lwr Baggot Street or listen in to Radio Nova over the duration of the appeal to hear the list of drop-off points throughout Dublin county and commuter belt.
The ISPCC is one of Ireland’s leading independent children charities, advocating for the rights , well being and protection of children. Mary Gamble, Head of Fundraising at the charity says, “This Christmas we are delighted to work with Radio Nova on their “Kits for Christmas Appeal” and look forward to bringing a smile to the children who use our services.”
Kevin Branigan CEO of Radio Nova says, “We’re very excited to launch this new initiative and delighted to be working with the ISPCC. This campaign has the potential to really make a difference to thousands of less fortunate children and put a smile on their face”.
The Radio Nova ‘Kits for Christmas’ campaign starts this week and runs throughout December on the station’s ‘Morning Glory’ breakfast show. Radio Nova broadcasts on 100.3FM to Dublin, Kildare, Meath & Wicklow.
