PJ & Jim's 'GloryDaze' Podcast Nominated At Irish Podcast Awards

PJ & Jim’s ‘GloryDaze’ Podcast Nominated At Irish Podcast Awards

We’re delighted here at Nova Towers to hear that PJ & Jim’s GloryDaze podcast has been nominated at the forthcoming Irish Podcast Awards! The nomination is for ‘A Special GloryDaze’, an edition of the weekly podcast released in October 2022 in which Radio Nova breakast presenters PJ Gallagher and Jim McCabe had a frank and open discussion, where PJ for the first time spoke publicly about seeking treatment for his mental illness during an 11 week stay at Dublin’s St Patrick’s Hospital.

The podcast edition took place after PJ appeared with Ryan Tubridy on RTE 1’s ‘The Late Late Show’ on Friday October 21 to discuss his time away, earlier in 2022, from his weekday breakfast show ‘Morning Glory’ on Radio Nova with co-host Jim McCabe.

The 2023 Irish Podcast Awards will be held on 21 November at House Dublin and offers Irish producers, presenters, sponsors, platforms, writers, and performers a space to celebrate the art of podcasting and highlight the fantastic content that’s on offer in Ireland. Others on the 2023 shortlist include The Blindboy Podcast, DustPod.io, This Paranormal Life, Talking Derry Girls and My Therapist Ghosted Me.

Executive Producer of ‘Morning Glory’ and ‘GloryDaze’, Clint Drieberg said, “We’re delighted with this nomination in the prestigious Irish Podcast Awards! I’m so glad PJ is in now a place where he is happy and healthy enough to talk about this terribly tough time in his life. If what he has to say helps just one person dealing with mental illness then we have done our job in showing that it’s ok to seek help”.

At the time of the podcast, Radio Nova CEO, Kevin Branigan, said, “At Radio Nova, we endeavor to support our team whenever possible. We try to create an environment that will encourage our employees to feel safe in discussing any issues with us that may be affecting them, including those of mental health. It’s important for people to understand that there are always solutions to deal with problems that may seem insurmountable.”
