Radio NOVA becomes Media Partner of Surf Summit 2015.
Surf Summit 2015 takes place straight after the Web Summit, on 6th – 8th November, in Sligo town, with hundreds of tech investors, startups, entrepreneurs and industry enthusiasts travelling to do business in a dynamic, fun and unique environment. The 3-day event is an intimate gathering of people who love tech and the outdoors and is a mingling of international tech CEO’s, investors, media and more with professional surfers.
NOVA is co-sponsoring the event with RTE, Facebook, CNBC, The Guardian, Financial Times and Independent.ie amongst others.
Senior executives from some of the world’s biggest tech brands along with future industry leaders will spend three days engaging in a range of outdoor activities which will include surfing, kayaking, kite surfing as well as activities, networking, dinners, parties, discussions and talks – all against the backdrop of the jaw-dropping scenery of Sligo.
More than 200 people attended the event in Westport, Co Mayo last year but the Surf Summit intends to “dramatically increase” that figure this year. Sligo’s surf culture is long established and Strandhill has been a mecca for surfing since the 1970s.
“The Surf Summit is the ultimate way for executives in the startup and technology industries to deepen the network they’ve developed at the Web Summit and experience the best that Ireland’s west has to offer. We’re delighted to be partnering with such a high-profile event; the profile of Surf Summit attendees is very much in line with that of our growing audience so it’s the perfect match from a media promotion perspective”, says Radio NOVA’s Kevin Branigan.
The Sligo Chamber of Commerce estimates the event could be worth millions to the local economy over its three days.
