About Radio Nova
Radio Nova is Dublin’s leading music radio station, commanding a 9.4% share of radio listening across the capital.
We’re expanding our newsroom—and we’re looking for someone with curiosity, energy, and a can-do attitude to join us as Radio Nova’s Roving Reporter.
The Role
You’ll be at the front line of Dublin’s stories, from fast-breaking headlines to colourful local events and people. This role combines radio reporting, live fieldwork, and social media storytelling—and it needs someone who’s as comfortable with a microphone as they are with a smartphone.
We’re looking for a creative self-starter who’s hungry to learn, eager to get stuck in, and ready to roll with whatever the news day throws at them.
What You’ll Do
– Work with our programming and news teams to devise a weekly plan
– Gather brilliant sound and social video, interviews, vox pops
– Edit and file: produce short, sharp packages for news, programming and social
– Post updates, clips and behind-the-scenes content across Nova’s social media
– Pitch ideas: find new angles and local voices that our listeners care about
– Represent Nova with professionalism and approachability to clients and the general public
What You’ll Bring
– A genuine love of news and storytelling
– A strong sense of initiative and a can-do approach to challenges
– Experience with audio editing (Audacity, Adobe Audition, or similar)
– Familiarity with social media storytelling across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook)
– Great writing skills and the ability to adapt your tone for radio or social
– A positive, people-focused mindset—you enjoy talking to strangers and getting the quote
– Experience in radio, student journalism, podcasting, TikTok reels, or other media welcome
– A clean driving licence is necessary
A qualification in journalism or communications is helpful—but your attitude and portfolio will be equally important.
What You’ll Get
– A key reporting role in one of Dublin’s most exciting independent radio stations
– Real-time bylines and on-air contributions from your first week
– Support from creative and collaborative programming and news departments
– Training, mentoring, and the chance to grow into more senior roles
– A fast-paced environment where your ideas are valued and your voice is heard
