He has also worked at social media news agency, Storyful, established by journalist Mark Little.
NOVA’s Kevin Branigan said, “We’re very pleased to welcome Gareth to NOVA. We’re a unique, diverse radio station, with lots of ambitions. We’re keen to expand the range and depth of our news and sports coverage, particularly at weekends, and Gareth brings many years of experience at senior national level to help us do this both on-air and through social media, where he is considered a key influencer. Our listeners have told us they want more up to date, credible sports coverage on NOVA, alongside our trademarked seriously addictive music, and now we’re delivering what they’ve asked for”.
Gareth O’ Connor said, “I’m excited and delighted to be joining Radio NOVA to help expand news and sport coverage and grow weekend audience. NOVA is the most vibrant and innovative station on the dial and has really exciting plans for the future. I’m very happy to be part of the phenomenon that is Radio NOVA”.
NOVA broadcasts seriously addictive music, including news, sport and lifestyle information for adults aged 25-54 to the Greater Dublin area, including Dublin, Kildare, Meath & Wicklow
“It says a lot for NOVA that we continue to attract high-calibre, heavy-weight talent; this helps us further develop our output and provide diversity to the 1.25 million radio listeners within our franchise area”, said Branigan.
O’ Connor will start broadcasting on NOVA later in January.
