Gavin Glass Joins Radio NOVA

Singer-songwriter, music director and record producer Gavin Glass has joined Radio NOVA to present a new Sunday evening programme. The multi-instrumentalist/singer-songwriter will present ‘Locals Only’ from 6pm each Sunday, starting April 3rd.

Gavin has released three critically-acclaimed solo albums and has produced and played on countless Irish records over his twenty year career. He’s performed alongside numerous artists such as Mundy, Cathy Davey, Lucy Wikins of Roxy Music fame, Lisa Hannigan, Jerry Fish and Declan O’ Rourke, amongst others.  As a music director, he’s worked on projects as diverse as “We Could Be Heroes”, a production that worked with young local bands from Munster and developed them into a professional house-band for an outdoor festival which featured some of Ireland’s top artists to the annual “Turning Pirate Mix Tape”. The band has performed to a sold out Vicar Street for the past six years.

He recently completed his role as music director for John Carney’s critically-acclaimed motion picture “Sing Street”. He set up and continues to run Orphan Recording Studios in Dublin, and has recorded The Young Folk, The Hot Sprockets, The Minutes, and The Eskies, among others.

Locals Only has run for five years on Radio NOVA and has seen hundreds of new Irish bands and artists perform live on the station. Gavin will now bring a new dimension to the show, featuring the best in Irish music and interviews and live performances from performers.

Gavin Glass said, “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the Nova family. There is so much great music in Ireland that ends up under the radar and I’m really excited about working with Nova and getting these artists heard on Irish Radio”.

Radio NOVA’s Kevin Branigan said, “We’re really please to welcome Gavin to the team. He’s in a class of his own as a musician and producer and we’re looking forward to him bringing his own personal touch to Locals Only”.

Locals Only with Gavin Glass starts Sunday April 3rd at 6pm on Radio NOVA.
