Job Offer – Roving Reporter for Radio Nova

The Role

The primary function of this part-time role is to be the voice of Radio Nova on Instagram, Facebook and Tiktok.

Radio Nova’s roving reporter will report on all current Dublin news. This goes for all breaking news, from a shop/restaurant opening, an Irish celebrity passing away or a social movement emerging to exceptional weather events, national holidays, sporting events and planned happenings.

You will:

• Spend approximately 2.5 days per week out on the streets of Dublin city, county, and commuter belt on behalf of Radio Nova
• Prepare and submit a weekly content plan outlining how these 2.5 days will be used to generate the maximum amount of content
• Attend and report from events, launches, shops, businesses, venues, press conferences, sporting happenings and community organisations
• Interview various personalities at events (celebrities, musicians, athletes and more) for live cover to film, edit and post
• Ensure content created across 2.5 roving days is spread strategically across the following seven days
• Contribute to maintaining Radio Nova’s position as Dublin’s largest radio station by enhancing public connection and visibility.

Required skills:

• 1 year of experience posting on Instagram, Facebook and Tiktok
• Professional experience behind and in front of the camera
• Video editing expertise, particularly in short-form 9:16 video
• Good copywriting skills
• Knowledge of the Irish media landscape
• Trendspotting: identifying social media trends, keeping up with algorithm updates, knowing what works and what doesn’t for your audience
