Radio Nova is launching a new radio service, Nova Xtra, on DAB. The new radio station will feature music, news, and and will focus on chilled classic rock, focussing on the more melodic end of the popular guitar-based music feature on Radio Nova and bringing additional content as a supplement to the Radio Nova.
Nova Xtra has received a broadcasting contract from Coimissiun ne Mean to broadcast on the Failte DAB trial that has appeared this week. The DAB trial will be available throughout the Leinster region and will cover Dublin, Meath, Wicklow, Kildare, Westmeath, Longford, Laois and Wexford.
Nova Xtra has been testing on online and an on smart speaker for several weeks and launches on DAB this week.
CEO, Kevin Branigan, said, “We’re excited to be taking part in the new DAB trial and at the opportunity to launch a new radio service to bring more to our current listeners and to appeal to potential new listeners. DAB is the latest technoogy in radio listening. Alongside FM radio, DAB can bring more channels, more choice and, most importantly, more NOVA.
Nova Xtra will be available on DAB, online, on the Nova App and via smart speakers.
