The Role

The primary function of this role is to develop and grow the online presence of Radio Nova.

This involves projecting the station’s brand to as many people as possible while engaging in ways that increase awareness, strengthen community connection, and enhance overall brand profile across digital platforms.

This is a combined role, balancing field reporting, social media management, and web content oversight.

You will be both the public-facing representative of the station in Dublin and the digital voice of the brand online.

Roving Reporter (Radio Nova)

  • Represent Radio Nova out on the streets of Dublin city, county, and commuter belt.
  • Attend and report from events, launches, press conferences, shops, businesses, venues, and community organisations.
  • Create live and recorded social updates, audio, and video vox pops.
  • File material back to the newsroom for use in news bulletins, live on-air reports, the station website, and social channels.

Social Media Management

  • Manage and oversee Radio Nova’s social media presence across platforms.
  • Create, plan, and coordinate engaging content that reflects the station’s brand and connects with audiences.
  • Monitor social media performance and identify opportunities to grow reach and engagement.
  • Work closely with presenters and programming teams to support the station’s overall digital presence.
  • Keep up to date with emerging social media trends and developments.

Web Content Management (Nova.ie)

  • Oversee and manage the content output of Nova.ie.
  • Write and publish engaging, timely online news and editorial content.
  • Work with the writing team to coordinate and maintain a consistent flow of website content.
  • Monitor website performance and identify opportunities to grow reach and engagement.
  • Ensure a joined-up content approach across the station’s website, radio, and social media platforms.

What You’ll Bring

  • A genuine love of news and storytelling.
  • A strong sense of initiative and a can-do approach to challenges.
  • At least three years’ experience posting on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
  • Experience with audio editing software such as Audacity, Adobe Audition, or similar.
  • Video editing skills, particularly in short-form 16:9 format, with CapCut preferred.
  • Experience with WordPress, Meta Business Suite, and CapCut.
  • Excellent copywriting skills for online news reporting.
  • A positive, people-focused mindset, with the confidence to approach people and get the story.
  • An ability to spot emerging social media trends, keep up with algorithm updates, and understand what resonates with your audience.
  • A full, clean driving licence is essential.

A qualification in journalism or communications is an advantage, but your attitude, creativity, and portfolio will be equally important.
